Former G20 “Conspiracy” Co-accused faces jail time over blog

Three days after starting to blog about his experience at the G20 and with undercover infiltration, community organizer Julian Ichim was ordered by the OPP to take down his blog.

For refusing to comply and alter any blog postings, he is now facing three charges of disobeying a court order and must appear in court at Old City Hall on December 13 at 11:00am in courtroom 111.

The G20 Legal Defence Fund has reopened for its third application round and is now accepting applications for requests for financial assistance from G20 defendants, both current and past. If you have incurred legal or associated costs as a result of criminal charges you faced following the G20 in Toronto, please consider applying for assistance from the Fund. If you previously applied to the Fund, you can reapply for costs that may not have been covered previously.

Kitchener, Grand River Territory –On August 25th 2011, AW@L member and independent journalist Dan Kellar was pulled over and arrested by detectives from the OPP’s Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB)—the same unit that has been involved in arresting six other AW@L members and more than a dozen others in connection with G20 related allegations.

Challenge the “No Demonstration” Condition
July 28, 2011

On July 28, Mandy Hiscocks and co-accused Alex Hundert will be joined in court by the Canadian Civil Liberties Association in challenging the legitimacy of the bail condition not to “plan for, assist in planning for, attend or participate in any public demonstrations” that at least 18 people are currently saddled with as a result of the G20. The CCLA is seeking to intervene in the bail review proceedings initiated by Hiscocks and Hundert.
